What is the relationship between Grace United and Theophilus OPC?
Grace United Orthodox Presbyterian Church is currently in transition in two respects: (1) Since our inception in 1995 as Theophilus Orthodox Presbyterian Church with just a few families, we have grown to now working towards becoming a new church work called Grace United Orthodox Presbyterian Church with a distinctly multi-cultural identity, while Theophilus OPC continues in Anaheim as a Korean congregation. (2) In becoming Grace United OPC, we have moved from our location in Anaheim to this new location in Stanton on November 3, 2024.
Currently, we are sharing this new church location with Living Stones Church. This is a temporary situation with the expectation that we will have sole occupation of the facilities at the beginning of 2025, Lord willing! During this temporary transitional period, our worship service and other Sunday activities will start at 1PM because Living Stones Church will be using the facilities in the morning. After this temporary transition period, our Sunday schedule will move forward earlier in the day, and other planned Sunday and mid-week in-person events and activities will become part of our regular schedule. We are thankful for for Living Stones Church's partnership in sharing the building space with us during this transitional period, and we thank you for your patience as we remodel and work out our plans when we fully move into our new facilities. We eagerly look forward to renovating our new space and fully making the transition to Grace United OPC as we make Stanton our new home!

What does worship look like at Grace United?
Our worship service is simple and reverent.

Worship is a dialogue in which we meet God. God speaks to us through His Word and sacraments, and we respond in prayer, confession, giving, and singing.
The preaching of God’s Word makes up the chief part of the service, in which the pastor reads from a specific text from the Bible, demonstrates how it is fulfilled in Christ, and explains its meaning and significance in our lives.
What about our children?
We partake in covenant worship, worshiping with different ages and diverse backgrounds together, as a reflection of how we will worship in heaven eternally. So children are invited and expected to worship with all the people of God every Lord's Day. We encourage parents and the whole congregation to help our children learn how to worship, modeling how to worship as well as proactively engaging our children to actively participate in the liturgy. To help support the youth, we provide weekly youth worksheets for younger and older youth to help them follow along with the sermon message. Outside of worship, we provide regular meetings for the youth to spend time with other similarly-aged peers in times of learning, praise, and fellowship.
How would you describe the teaching?
We are reformed and confessional, subscribing to the Westminster Standards. We desire to preach and teach Christ from all of Scripture.
What do we sing?
For worship, we delighted in singing from the theologically rich and beautiful hymns of the Trinity Psalter Hymnal for worship to maintain uniformity with our denomination, the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
At our Bible studies, we enjoy singing from a variety of traditional and contemporary gospel songs and hymns.
What makes Grace United distinct?
Grace United is:
-
reformed and always being reformed by God
-
focused on biblical and Christ centered preaching
-
driven to live out the gospel of Jesus
-
intentional to love God and neighbor
-
multi-generational with covenant worship
-
multi-cultural and multi-ethnic, welcoming all to community
-
seeking to seek and serve in all stages of life and faith
What is our community like?
The first word that comes to our mind is family.
We really are a family, a spiritual heavenly family. We’re made up of people from a wide array of ages and a diverse panorama of backgrounds. If you come to visit us, we may look like an interesting group of people because it may look like we have very little in common. That’s why it’s so clear that it is the almighty God at work in our church, uniting us as one body to help each other grow in the grace of God!
